What is the name of this flower?

It's purple and star shaped. The petal are pointy and the center is sunk in and a deep purple color. I believe it was on a vine but i could be wrong.

I was going to suggest clematis as well, but it could be a version of nightshade or bellflower also.
Reply:it could be a star magnolia, they grow as shrubs .
Reply:This could describe any type flower that is grown like this with that color. You could try the Passion Flower also. Look up passiflora for a photo. Good luck
