What flower name would you put in this sib-set?

this is for my friend's story.

She wants the story to have 3 sisters: Azalea is the youngest, Magnolia is the middle child, and she needs and older sister.

which do you like best for siblings?

Violet, Magnolia, and Azalea

Camellia, Magnolia, and Azalea

Dahlia, Magnolia, and Azalea

Lilac, Magnolia, and Azalea

Rose, Magnolia, and Azalea

Jessamine, Magnolia, and Azalea

they all have to be flower names. suggestions are welcome!

What flower name would you put in this sib-set?
Many parents choose more common and conservative names for their first child and become more daring with their younger children's names. Rose seems like a very good older sister name; I could imagine parents choosing that and then deciding they want something more edgy for their other children. If the parents in the story are rather old-fashioned, or if the oldest daughter is responsible and refined, then I think Rose would be the best choice.

I could also imagine parents picking Lily or Violet for their first daughter, thinking those names were fairly uncommon. When they realize those names have become popular, they pick names for their other daughters that are definitely less familiar. They seem less like "older sister" names to me, though.

Dahlia and Camellia sound like "older sister" names. If the parents in the story are very creative and are the type to pick unusual names right off the bat, one of these might be the best choice. If your friend wants all the girls' names to match in the "ia" or "ea" ending, these coordinate quite nicely.

Lilac and Jessamine don't feel quite right to me with the sibset.

It's good to consider what the oldest daughter will be like in the story and think about which name best suits her personality. It's also important to consider what the girls' parents are like, because THEY are the ones who would have chosen their daughters' names. To make the story feel realistic, your friend should choose names that the parents would have been likely to choose. Without knowing any of that, though, my top choices would be (in order) Rose, Camellia, Dahlia, Violet, and then Lily.
Reply:I personally love Dahlia. I think they definitely flow the best. They're all not quite as "well-known" as other flower names (like Lily, Rose, Violet, etc.).

Plus, they all end in the same sound, and I love that. They all flow extremely well together, in my opinion.

She also sounds like she would make a great older sister. To me, since Violet and Lily (and even Rose) are becoming quite popular, they wouldn't fit the "older sister" character as well, you know?

So, my vote is for Dahlia. It's absolutely gorgeous. I don't really think any other flower name could beat it. She seems perfect to me. :)

Reply:I think Camellia or Dahlia work the best with Magnolia and Azalea, cuz they are a bit long like the other 2 and they end in 'a' and they sound exotic like Magnolia and Azalea do.

Jessamina might work too, if u just add an 'a' on Jessmine.

Violet and Lilac could possibly work too, if ur friend wants the other sis's name to be a bit diff. form her sisters.

Rose and Lily wouldn't work at all IMO, cuz they are too short and too common to go along with Magnolia and Azalea.

Hope this helps and good luck to ur friend with her story, :D.
Reply:LOL ok where is she getting these names LOL Azalea like I said on the other post is on my favorite list of names and actually so is Jessamine, although I have it spelled Jessamyn, thats just to weird. so yes I like Jessamyn or even Jasmine is very pretty. for the story I'd go with Rose or Jasmine for the older sister. or even Lily. I am not really fond of Magnolia though :-/
Reply:I like Violet and Jessamine. I wouldn't pick another name ending in a because the other two already do. I think Magnolia and Azalea are rather unique names and Lily or Rose look a bit plain next to it.

I also like the names Lavender, Clover and Amaryllis. Hope this helps and good luck with the story!
Reply:I'm in looooooooe with the name Dahlia.. I'm actually going to make my penname Bria Dahlia.. but w/e

Rose and Violet sound very mature as the oldest sister's name..

I dont like Jessamine.. Lilac is okay.. maybe Lily?

other suggestions: Blossom or Petunia?
Reply:I like Rose the best, but if i could add a suggestion what about Isla pronounced eye la, its a flower, a pretty name, and sounds mature for the older sister!
Reply:I like Rose, Magnolia and Azalea or Lilly, Magnolia and Azalea.

I think Carnation, Magnolia and Azalea also works, if you like it.
Reply:I like Dahlia or Lilac. Rose and Violet are overused in my opinion. And with siblings like Magnolia and Azalea, I'd want to be unique too! I think my favorite is actually Dahlia!
Reply:Camellia because they all have the lia/lea ending and they are all four syllables.

I think this matches well. Camellia, Magnolia, and Azalea.
Reply:Dahlia, Magnolia, and Azalea.

Jessamine, Magnolia, and Azalea.
Reply:Violet, Magnolia, and Azalea
Reply:Lily, Violet, %26amp; Rose
Reply:I would make them somewhat 'normal' and have

Lily

Camilla

Violet

or

Lily

Camilla

Rose
Reply:Jessamine, Magnolia, and Azalea. :-)
Reply:Jessamine, Dahlia, and Lilac

that is beautiful
Reply:I like Dahlia, magnolia and azalea :)
Reply:Dahlia.
Reply:They all sound like wonderful name combo's. What about Zinnia as the older sisters name.
Reply:I LOVE the names Lilie and Rose

(by the way, my name isnt actually Lilie)
Reply:I really like Dahlia, that way they are all flower names AND they all end in "lea" sounds. I think a mother would do that.
Reply:violet
Reply:Rose or Jasmine (not Jessamine).
Reply:I like Lily or Rose
Reply:i like jasmine :)
