What is the name of the flower that pops and seeds come out when you touch it?

My aunt had a flower(I think it was pink) and it had little bulbs on it. When you touched the bulbs they popped and tiny seeds came out of it.

What is the name of the flower that pops and seeds come out when you touch it?
I have a flower called Love in a Mist. They grow in Blues and White but after they are done flowering little striped balls form that are filled with hundreds of tiny black seeds.
Reply:There are a number of plants with that characteristic. Several folks have mentioned jewelweed, which is a wild plant that has orange or yellow flowers. Jewelweed isn't often grown in gardens.

But you said this plant had pink flowers. That makes me think it could be impatiens. Impatiens are more commonly grown in gardens and the plant does produce seed pods that will "pop" and curl up to expose the seeds.
Reply:They are known as Balsam or Impatiens walleriana.A fleshy stemmed plant that grows to about 70cm and prefers semi shade. They have pink, purple, white, red, orange or combinations of colours on their flowers.
Reply:Erin B it sure looks like your on to something.

Here is a web site that may be of help. This shows photo's. I have the one with the orange and yellow flowers at my home.

Reply:Busy Lizzies do this but there are others the other name for them is Impatiens ...
Reply:Was it a snapdragon?
Reply:Our Mexican Petunias would do that-like fire crackers they would pop off...around July! They are pink or purple.
